Thoughtful Thursday
Helping Christian leaders renew and recharge each month
Next Session: Thursday, October 1, 2026 @11AM CT
Topic: Moving from Comfort Zone to Calling: Expanding Capacity Through Trust
About This Session:
We are all called at different moments to step beyond what feels familiar. Yet uncertainty, discomfort, and even self-doubt can make us hesitate—even when we sense that growth or calling is inviting us forward.
In this session, we’ll explore what happens in the brain when we encounter unfamiliar situations and why discomfort is not necessarily a signal to retreat. By bringing together insights from neuroscience with the wisdom of Scripture, we’ll examine how challenge can become an important part of growth—and how faith can help us move forward with greater confidence and trust.
Rather than allowing our comfort zones to define our boundaries, we’ll consider how leaders can recognize healthy discomfort, expand their capacity, and take meaningful steps toward where God may be calling them.
Takeaways from this 55-Minute Interactive Session:
—Understanding Your Comfort Zone: Explore why the brain naturally resists uncertainty and change—and how that resistance can influence our choices.
—Reframing Discomfort: Learn to distinguish between genuine warning signs and the normal discomfort that accompanies learning, growth, and change.
—Moving from Comfort to Calling: Discover practical, faith-centered ways to step beyond familiar boundaries with greater clarity, confidence, and trust.
